GenFlex HD Iso Cover Board is a ½”-thick (12.7mm) high-density polyisocyanurate (Iso) insulation designed for use in direct-to-wood deck applications and anywhere a cover board is required. This high-density Iso product incorporates several next generation features that result in a lightweight, yet extremely strong roof insulation.
HD Iso combines a specially coated inorganic fiberglass facer and a high-density foam core to create a cover board that has all of the characteristics you want in an insulation. No other single cover board can match HD Iso’s impact resistance, energy savings, flame resistance, moisture resistance and ease of handling and installation.
All GenFlex Iso insulations use an EPA-accepted blowing agent that is HCFC-free and does not contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer (ODP-free). They are available at all of our eight manufacturing/distribution facilities nationwide.

High-Density Polyisocyanurate Roof Insulation
• Lightweight – At only 11 lb. per 4′ x 8′ board and 96 pieces per bundle, HD Iso is easier to handle than other cover boards, with less weight and more square feet per pallet.
• Strong – At 120 psi compressive strength, HD Iso is up to six times stronger than standard Iso. It can actually add structural strength to the roofing system. It also provides significantly more resistance to the effects of hail, rooftop traffic and other potentially damaging loads.
• Energy Efficient – With an R-Value of 2.5, HD Iso provides the highest thermal performance of any ¼” or ½” cover board.
• Workable – It is far easier to cut than other cover boards, meaning quicker installation time, less labor and less waste.
• Moisture and Mold Resistant – Because of its inorganic facer and closed cell foam core construction, HD Iso is inherently moisture resistant and mold resistant according to ASTM D3273.
• Versatile – HD Iso is available in 4′ x 4′ or 4′ x 8′ boards and is compatible with GenFlex EPDM and TPO fully adhered, mechanically attached and ballasted systems, as well as many other roof system types.
• Wind Resistant – HD Iso provides superior wind-uplift performance, requiring only 12 fasteners and plates per 4′ x 8′ board for fully adhered systems to meet FM Global 1-90 Rating.
• Fire Resistant – HD Iso can enhance and provide greater UL fire ratings.
• Weatherproof – HD Iso comes from our factories in Tuff Wrap,® the industry’s best, most weatherproof covering. There’s no need to tarp HD Iso during transportation or storage.
• Convenient – HD Iso may be combined with other flat or tapered GenFlex Iso products for shipments from any of our eight manufacturing/distribution facilities nationwide. GenFlex Iso products may provide LEED® credits for utilizing regional materials.
